1. What is the Procedure in Applying as Live-In Nanny for Canada?
It is important that you have attended the Northern Leaf Inc. seminar, held every three months in Hong Kong.
We only hire Nannies who meet our qualifications. Nannies who represent our company understand certain standards in caring the family. To mention a few, attitude and common sense are one of the most important qualifications that we consider. Once you are selected, you will be contacted for schedule for interview with Northern Leaf staff. Some of the questions asked in the interview are indicators of your personality.
2. What is the Requirements from the Canadian Embassy?
The embassy requires you to have (a) at least 2 years of College or University Education in the Philippines; (b) you need to pass your medical check-up with the Canadian Embassy’s OWN doctors and Police Clearance from Philippines and Hong Kong. (c) You need also to have at least 1 year of work experience with children if you are applying as a Nanny and at least 1 year experience looking after seniors if you are applying as caregiver.
3. What are the Qualities of a Nanny Northern Leaf is looking for?

4. What Kind of Employers do you have for your Nannies?
Northern Leaf Inc. does not only qualify nannies but also employers. Majority of Northern Leaf Inc. employers are somehow linked through friends, acquaintance, colleagues, or family members. Most of these employers are quality employers: educated, have a wonderful family, good home and mostly they treat their nannies as member of their family.
5. How long does the processing take from the time we are hired by our employer until we receive our visa.
Approximately 2 months.
6. What are the services offered by Northern Leaf before we leave for Canada?
We provide orientation and extensive training after our nannies are hired in order to prepare them both mentally and emotionally in their transition to a new country.
7. Can we communicate with our employers after we are hired?
Definitely. We encourage our nannies to send a thank you card or email to their employer, email them as often as you can to start off a good relationship and communication.
8. How do we prepare ourselves before we leave for Canada and what do we need to bring?
Answer to this question will be giving out to each Nanny who has been hired.
9. What kind of support do we have from Northern Leaf Inc. before and after we arrive Canada?
This information will be handed out to you during your orientation and training sessions.
10. How do we go about with the interview process?
Northern Leaf will contact you directly or through our staff in Hong Kong to inform you of your schedule for interview. Details on this information will be provided as part of orientation process.
